I have been crazy busy and not been blogging like I should. Our adoption is going very well.We have been moved to the "almost there" category on reesesrainbow.org. This means our dossier is logged into the system in China. We are waiting on an official letter of acceptance so we can complete our last immigration step. After that we will just be waiting on China to give us our travel approval. Then we get to go pick up our daughter and Rebecca will be a Bowen. Rebecca Bowen :) I love the sound of that!
I can hardly wait to get to her. She isn't receiving the therapy or nourishment she needs,so she still can't walk,is nonverbal and is tiny. She only gets formula from a bottle and has never been given solid food. We are looking forward to fattening her up.
We appreciate everyone's help. So many have purchased items from our fundraisers, donated to our rummage sale, collected shoes and donated money. Every single act of kindness is getting Rebecca closer to having the family she deserves. THANK YOU!!!

Home Study Update
As of October 6th, we have completed the second visit for our all important Home Study! So far the process has been pretty smooth and we will have one more visit with our social worker before this part of our home study is complete. She told us that we have a beautiful home and a beautiful family on her first visit so we assume she approves of us.
We are almost finished with the mountains of paperwork that are required and have been following our checklist to a T. We were surprised to find out that both Joe and I are required to do two book reports. You know, the kind you do in middle school? We both have to read and report on two different books about adoption. We have some homework to do!
The shoe drive fundraiser is going really well so far. I am humbled by the people who have stepped up to help in various ways. Total strangers are collecting from their churches and work places and even driving several hours to bring them to us. Our friends and family have been spreading the word and shoes are coming in from all kinds of places! My nephew Riley got a donation to have posters made and you will start seeing them around the area very soon.
We are so thankful for Joe's parents, Hoffman Health Partners and Kraft Family Chiropractic for being drop off locations. We still need A LOT of shoes so if you haven't cleaned our your closets yet, now is the time.
Our friend Roxy at New 2U Consignment has offered a donation of $50 for every 100 pairs of shoes dropped off at her shop! What a blessing this has been! Her shop is located at 201 Main Street in Towanda so please stop by and check out her store when you drop your shoes off!
My sister in law Brandee Gorsline has been gracious enough to do a fundraiser for us with her Young Living essential oils business. With the purchase of Premium Starter Kit she will donate $50 to our adoption fund. If you've ever considered learning more about using essential oils for your family's health and wellness, then now would be a great time to get started. She provides many opportunities for you to learn how to use your oils too! Essential oils are a staple in our home and I can't wait to get Rebecca here so she can experience the healing power of oils too. You can contact her on Facebook under the name Brandee Bowen Gorsline or contact me and I'll get you in touch with her.
We covet your prayers for our family as we go through this process! Thank you for visiting our blog!
